My friend recently pointed out “You say ‘seasons’ a lot.” I chuckled at her kind way of suggesting I diversify my language. She wasn’t referring to weather seasons – though I have confessed that the cooler mornings are inspiring my instinct to light my fall candle and add pumpkin spice to my coffee.
My friend was referring to how I process change. I have recently been consumed by the concept of seasons in our lives – childhood, singlehood, dating, marriage, having children, and on and on. I’m sure many of you have, like me, witnessed God revealing more of Himself in the seasons of your life. Had a change of seasons not come, I would not have known the friend, Father, protector, provider, and peacemaker He is.
He is doing the same in the seasons at GraceWorks. GraceWorks turns 30 years old next year and has gone through many seasons – founding, building, growing, expansion, new leaders, COVID, rapid growth, and more. In these seasons God has revealed Himself as our creator, our inspiration, our provider, our healer, our leader, and more.
I have that cool fall morning type of feeling at GraceWorks right now – the first sign of a change of seasons. GraceWorks is drafting our new Strategic Plan this year that will serve as a compass for the next three years. We are hopeful the compass is pointed towards a permanent home for GraceWorks and all the services we have dreamt about facilitating in that building.
This sense of change settles in my heart with excitement but not just for the outcome. I am most excited about how God will reveal Himself yet again in new and mighty ways. I can’t wait to witness it!
If you want to join us in witnessing God at GraceWorks, there are so many ways I’ve listed below. But, as always, prayer is the most powerful way. If you have a moment now as you read this, I invite you to join us in prayer for a few things during this season:
- For GraceWorks to discern God’s will during our Strategic Planning efforts.
- For faith in His provision of a new building.
- For the Neighbors GraceWorks has served and will serve.
- That we recognize when God reveals Himself and testify of His goodness!
Thank you for living the seasons of GraceWorks with us!
Alicia
