Bedtime prayers with my four-year-old often go like this: “Thank you Lord for everything. Amen.” Sometimes he adds Super Mario or his family, but most of the time it’s a blanket statement that frustrates me a little bit. “He’s being lazy,” I think to myself.
But this particular four-year-old is anything but lazy, and he deploys bedtime delay tactics like a Navy SEAL. So, I asked him why he simply says “everything.” He answered, “Because God made everything,” then went on to request his third glass of water before bed.
Honestly, we could all pray more like my four-year-old. God gave us everything, and simply acknowledging that can be a powerful thing.
I know many of you choose to give thanks to the Lord by giving to GraceWorks—giving your time, your prayers, your finances, your items, your advocacy to us. So, I want to give thanks where thanks are due—to God and to YOU!
Please enjoy some gratitude written from our neighbors meant for you! As you read them, I hope you can see that simply giving thanks where thanks are due first, as Jesus did when he held just five loaves and two fish in His hands, can miraculously multiply just moments later.
From our Neighbors to you:
“I want to sincerely thank you for helping me during this temporary season in my life. This rental assistance is truly appreciated, and it has made such a meaningful difference for me during a time of need. Please extend my heartfelt gratitude to the shareholders, grant writers, donors, and everyone responsible for making these funds available. Your generosity and commitment to helping others provide hope, relief, and peace of mind when it’s needed most. Thank you for being a blessing during this challenging time. I am truly grateful for this assistance and everyone who made it possible.”
“May Kingdom Blessings rest upon GraceWorks’ house and everyone connected to the house.”
“Thank you for never failing to wash the feet of the weary and the hurting souls, with the kindness of Jesus flowing through your lives and words! Lovingly grateful…’Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.’ —Proverbs 11:25”
“I do not have the words to express the support that I have received from the GraceWorks team. My first visit was absolutely amazing. I was received with care and offered support beyond what I was expecting. Everyone was so nice, caring and willing to pray for me. I left feeling better than when I arrived….Again, I am so grateful and appreciative of the support that GraceWorks provides. They are truly an extension of God’s plan.”
“Thanks GraceWorks for recommending me to go to the American Job Center. I went and got a job a week later! You all are the best!“
“My gratitude for your assistance will never be forgotten. If you ever need volunteers for any service at your ministry let me know! I would like to pass your generosity forward in any way I am available to do so!”
“I am beyond thankful for this. It has truly helped me financially during my training period at my new job. Thank you so much!”
“Thank you for all you do. You have helped us when we were in need.”
“I just want to say thank you all of you for all the help you been doing for me to provide me food for my kids. I’m a single mom with four wonderful boys. Since my divorce…it’s been so difficult for me. I been having hard time but your help has been such a blessing for me and my kids. I really appreciate it and every time I give thanks to my Lord for your help. I really want to say thank you.”
“I pray for your line of hope that GraceWorks extends to others, that grace portals NEVER run dry and that every year yields a greater increase than the previous year. I pray for every human angel that works on the behalf of grace….that y’all days of lack wither like the grass when the seasons change. For every deed sown may every one of y’all reap a God-size triple portion that doesn’t make sense to the human mind….It meant so much to my heart receiving love and kindness during this time. As I’m sure you already know, sometimes grace is all we need. And to know that God still have people out there who are answered the call to be true servants, to be an extension of Him in the earth is yet refreshing.”
My challenge to you this November:
Share a story of thankfulness multiplied! I know many of us go around the Thanksgiving table to share what we are thankful for. I encourage you to extend that tradition by sharing how your act of giving thanks multiplied in the lives of others at GraceWorks. Maybe read some of the quotes from above or tuck them under dinner plates and have your guests read them. Show them that thanking the Lord miraculously multiples gratitude. Challenge your family to find an organization to give their time, advocacy, prayers, finances, or items. Thankfulness will be multiplied!
Thank you for choosing to give thanks with GraceWorks!
