SNAP Response Plan

The Current Situation

Here’s a quick overview of what our community is facing:

  • Effective Nov. 1, SNAP benefits expire for Tennessee residents.
  • Tennessee will NOT use state funds to cover the gap.
  • That means 700,000 residents, 3,300 in Williamson County, are losing access to their main source of food.

At GraceWorks, we’re preparing for a potential surge in Food Pantry requests.

How SNAP Recipients Can Get Help from GraceWorks

Williamson County residents receiving SNAP benefits in 2025 are warmly invited to shop at the GraceWorks Food Pantry from 9 am–3 pm, Monday–Friday, no appointment needed!

When you come to shop at the GraceWorks Food Pantry, please bring:

  • Your SNAP Benefit Awards Letter or SNAP Benefit Statement
  • Your photo ID, plus IDs for any new individuals you’d like to add to your household

If you’re new to GraceWorks:

How You Can Help

Here’s how you can support families in need in our community:

  • Donate funds: Monetary donations allow GraceWorks to purchase food and household essentials in bulk. We’re able to turn a $1 donation into $10 worth of food. Cash donations also allow us to address compounding needs that inevitably food insecurity—things like rent and utility assistance.
  • Host or contribute to food drives: We’re asking for the following priority items: Pasta, pasta sauce, tuna, canned chicken, and canned beans.
  • Spread the word: Encourage others to give and check on families who may be affected by the SNAP disruption and direct them to GraceWorks for assistance.
