CEO Letter: An Orchestra of Yes

My little girl went through a few years where using her voice took a lot of bravery. It wasn’t natural for her, and she needed encouragement to speak up for herself.

You better believe that every time she uttered the softest word my chest would swell with pride! I’d give her a big hug and tell her great job as a smile would grow on her face.

Well—I’ve had that swell in my chest for a few weeks now, and it’s been for this community.

I get chills when I envision all the moving pieces it took for GraceWorks to serve at higher levels as we mitigated the effects of SNAP freezes.

It took a thousand yeses from the community to make it happen—yes from our team to change our systems, yes from donors who filled the shelves, yes from adults and kids who hosted food drives, yes from volunteers who came in for busier shifts, yes from the neighbors who trusted us to provide a plan during times of uncertainty, yes from news outlets who were willing to share our story and more!

Can you hear the music too? If everyone plays their part, we make this beautiful sound together. In unity, our yeses show our neighbors going through hard times how much we love them.

If I could, I’d give everyone a big hug and tell you GREAT JOB! I hope you have a big smile on your face when you think of this incredible testimony of unity.

I’m excited to watch the Christmas season unfold because it will be another time to witness the harmony of this community in action. We have a full slate of service ahead of us: The Manger will serve nearly 2,000 Williamson County kids, our holiday food boxes will feed nearly 600 families—not to mention, we will be continuing high services in our Food Pantry, Mobile Food Pantry, Student Fuel Bags, rent/utility assistance, and more!

Let me thank you ahead of time because I know you will show up during this season of service. GraceWorks is honored to host this orchestra of love for our neighbors. No matter what yes you give, Jesus uses each one, and together we can provide a loud expression of love and peace for our neighbors.

Thank you and Merry Christmas!
