CEO Letter: A Doozy Year

This year could be a doozy. Something about it already feels different. GraceWorks feels richly rooted, yet on the edge of some significant unknowns. Some big unknowns of 2026:

  1. The Thrift Store might expand! This would be a huge answered prayer because revenue from the store not only completely covers our audited overhead, it also helps us serve neighbors. If the Thrift Store grows, GraceWorks grows. The unknown part—When will we be able to rent the additional space, and will the community respond with donations and shopping to help support the increased costs of this venture?
  2. GraceWorks explores a new permanent home. God has already delivered a beautiful possibility, and this year holds many hurdles for this possible property. The unknown part—Will this really be the property? Can we raise the support needed to build our future home in a short time?
  3. Economic impacts for our neighbors could worsen. Continually elevating cost of living, continually decreasing access to affordable housing, and other factors continue to make financial stability for our neighbors more fragile. The unknown part—How will these changes affect demand for our food, shelter, and support services?

As we joyfully face the year of possibilities, we will cling to this verse:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” —Proverbs 3:5-6

God reminded us in 2025 that He has delivered this ministry through 30 years of service and countless unknowns. In that confidence, we face 2026 with praise in our lungs! The stage is set for God to deliver His plan in unmistakable and mighty ways, and we get a front row seat. Thank you for being here with us!

I have a few favors to ask of you as the year unfolds. Will you pray that GraceWorks submits completely to God’s will?
