Maybe it is my Southern raising, but I firmly believe that my welcome mat sets the tone for the experience in my home. There is something about laying a new welcome mat that gets me excited. I imagine all the people who will walk through that threshold into fellowship, chats, hugs, and meals.
GraceWorks has the best welcome mat in the world – figuratively. Our front door certainly couldn’t grace the front page of Southern Living, but the way people feel when they cross that threshold – unbeatable!!
You see, GraceWorks has a very unique position that makes our welcome wider. We exist for Jesus, but we are not a church. You can encounter Jesus here, even if you don’t go to church. And, there are plenty of people who don’t – they didn’t grow up going, they have been hurt by the church, they don’t believe, they work Sundays, etc. Doesn’t that sound like the guest list to Jesus’ ideal dinner party?
GraceWorks hosts a wide welcome for all. When we open our doors every morning, it is an invitation to have a seat at His table. Come encounter a place motivated by love. Come get the relief you need. Come share your love for others in volunteering. Come shop in joy while doing good. And in all these things, we pray you encounter our host – Jesus.
As you prepare to welcome friends and family over Easter or be welcomed by others, here are some ways to lift up GraceWorks:
- As you bless the meal, lift our neighbors in prayer. Ask for the truth of the resurrection to be felt at GraceWorks.
- Come buy a decoration to add to your table and share about our amazing boutique and thrift store during your meal. Or buy a hostess gift and let them know where you found it!
- Ask your guests to bring canned food for GraceWorks to your gathering. Let them know GraceWorks gives a cart of food to a neighbor every 10 minutes! At the end of your meal, share how many carts would have rolled out during that time.
- If able, participate in our Spring Match. We have the ability to double $50,000 before April 24. https://www.graceworkstn.org/story/
Thank you and Happy Easter!
