Audrey*, a new neighbor who visited the Food Pantry, connected with one of our volunteers and opened up about her situation.
Audrey’s life had turned completely upside down when her sister died suddenly. After taking in her sister’s kids, she found her small household had turned into a family of seven overnight, with no room in the budget for more mouths to feed.
Thankfully, she heard about GraceWorks. We’ve been able to step in the gap, helping her keep food on the table while she grieves and plans for a future that looks so different from what she imagined.
The volunteer that connected with Audrey remembered, “She was such a sweet lady, just in a hard situation. Neighbors like her make it all worth it.”
